Hugely impressive.

Pity we can't muster anything like that down south.

Where 'down south' do you refer? Surrey Branch had an excellent display at the NRA open day at Bisley. I was particularly impressed by a fine display of wheel locks. There was another fine display by MLAGB members at the Shooting Show in Newark in February, and I have just received details from Monmouthshire Branch of a nice display at the Monmouth Country Show.

Coutelier have a word with your branch secretary,it will take six members who are prepared to work for the display and the shooting. It is not only Game and Country Fairs  but sometimes  your local agricultural shows have good results for recruiting new members.

Also contact the MLAGB Publicity Officer who can provide you with MLAGB promotional leaflets. There's also a selection of MLAGB A4 sized posters available for download if you need further promotional material.

The attendance of the Durham branch at the Raby Castle Game and Country Fair  on the 11th and 12th July was well supported .with a steady stream of punters for the have a go.  The display also  saw plenty of interest from the public and plenty of MLAGB and branch application forms were distributed with Saturday been the better day.

Congratulations to Durham Branch for a fine display. I particularly liked the old prints - the firearms are often displayed but the prints somehow add context and makes the arms display something more personal.

The Raby Castle Game and Country Fair  on the 14th and 15th August is larger than ever this year ,situated in the castle grounds at Staindrop, Co Durham, see Living Heritage Game and Country Fairs. The Durham branch of the MLAGB are a popular attraction where the public can Have a Go  and shoot  muzzle loading shotguns from the mighty 4 bore down to the 410  also the static display of antique weapons from the wheellock to the early breech loaders
