How to use a Kranen Whitworth Sizer
Jul 16th, 2010 at 10:36pm

Please forgive my ignorance but how is the sizer/swager which comes with a Kranen mould used? Is a special tool needed to push the casting through or is it possible by hand?

I've never seen one for a Kranen mould so can't help. Maybe someone on the Long Range Muzzle Loader web site forums can assist?

I managed to contact Leon again. His advice is -

You need something to push the bullet through.
I use a table drill machine to push the bullet through, but you can also improvise with a reloading press.

Can anyone suggest a suitable press to push the cast bullet through the sizer or provide an image of a device to do it? I have nothing of this kind and do not know where to begin or what to buy.How much would I need to spend? I find it all too easy to buy the wrong thing.

Have a look at the Long Range Muzzle Loader web site. There are both forums and an associated email list. Posting there should put you in contact with more who may have experience with the die.
