MLAIC 24th World Championships, Portugal
2010
The dates for this event will be 15-22 August 2010. All
shooting events will take place at the Fervença Shooting Complex, at
Fervença, near the town of Barcelos, in the north of Portugal.

Overseas Team Fund Auction
The auction will be held at the Exhibition Hut, Bisley on Saturday
25 April. It will be open to receive Lots from 10am, and the Auction
will commnce at 2pm. Advance notice has been recived of some lots and
these can be seen in the Auction
Catalogue.

Massive Robbery of Fine Antique Arms and Helmets
from a French Collector
Mr. Alain Verdet, from the Burgundy area of central France, has been
violently robbed of the major part of his collection at his house earlier
this week (6th April 2009). The thieves were three men and a woman with
an eastern accent. 75 guns and 29 helmets were taken and these include
a large number of the finest French Antique military long arms from
the beginning of the 18th Century to the present day. The helmets are
mainly of the ornate German types from the 19th Century. This
link shows a complete list with photos of all the missing items.
This is a very serious robbery involving a very high value of stolen
property. If anyone has any information about these items, please report
to the Gendarmerie at Nuits St.George whose telephone number in France
is 03 80 62 44 51. Telephoning from outside France ring the foreign
code and then 33 3 80 62 44 51.

It is with regret we announce that Peter Jacques, President
of the Muzzle Loaders Association of Great Britain, passed away
on 13th March.
Peter's funeral was held at the Heart
of England Crematorium, Nuneaton, on Monday 30th March at
12:00. Donations if desired may be made to the Sarcoma
Trust. |
The MLAGB will be participating and putting on a have a go stand at

The Third Sunday Pistol Practice has to be self funding and
cost approximately £85 for 10 targets per half day. Due to lack
of members turning up it is no longer finacially viable as the cost
per member increases as the number reduces. I wish to thank James Marsh
Brown for his time and effort in running these practices in the past

Spring OTF Competition: Change of Date
Please note that the Bisley Arms Fair is being held on Sunday 29th March
which many members enjoy attending. With this in mind the date of the
Wedgnock Spring OTF shoot has been changed form that previously published.
This open event for rifle, musket and pistol will now be held on 18/19th
April. If you have pre booked any accommodation we apologise for
the inconvenience caused.

Pistol Practice, Bisley
Bisley pistol practice session have been added to the Association calendar
of events for the period February - June. These practices have to
be self funding and if the numbers attending are not sufficient then
no further bookings will be made on behalf of the MLAGB.

Shooter Safety Certification.
The National Rifle Association has concluded an agreement with the Ministry
Of Defence, which includes requirements for shooters to hold a certificate
of competence for the types of firearm being used, prior to permitting
use of ranges owned or managed by the MOD and this includes the Bisley
Ranges.
