As an introduction to shooting or for those who do not wish to have Section 1 or Section 2 firearms (requiring a licence from the police), air rifles are a great way of enjoying the sport. Members shoot both the traditional leaver rifles as well as gas powered rifles and with open or telescopic sights.
The Association’s Wedgnock Ranges, Warwick, are open throughout the year, allowing practice on the 25m ‘C’ Range. Facilities include knock down targets and the more familiar circular paper targets. Whilst the casual shooter is catered for, there are also competitions running between March and November.
The Air Rifle secretary is Max Gordon. For youth especially, advice and assistance from Max and his team give sound guidance on the safe handling of air rifles.
