Shotguns

Flintlock and percussion shotguns (both reproduction and original) are used for sporting shooting. For many, introduction to this enjoyable and challenging discipline may have been via a ‘have-a-go’ stand run by MLAGB members at a summer or shooting ‘show’, such as the Northern Shooting Show.

A keen group of shotgunners hold popular monthly Down the Line (DTL) training sessions at Sywell Ranges in Northamptonshire. On the competition circuit shoots are held around the country, and include MLAGB National Championships plus many events hosted regionally by MLAGB Branches.

The current programme of events is available via the diary page. It should be noted that Wedgnock Ranges do not currently have facility for shotgun shooting.

The Shotgun secretary is Martin Crix with the DTL secretary being Jane Capewell.
